5mm steel plate rolled to form flattened oval shape, with three internal baffles - being two transverse and one longitudinal to minimize surge.   Fully welded both sides of all joins, capacity approx. 2,000 – 20,000 litres to suit cab chassis supplied to provide correct axle loadings.

Grit blasted and treated internally with Tankguard - a high solids epoxy mastic coating for use in water treatment plants and storage tanks.  Exterior of tank and all fittings grit blasted, primed, undercoated and two coats of white two pak polyurethane.

The tank is manufactured to comply with Workcover Authority confined space requirements.   Copies of the required documents are supplied for addition to Council’s Confined Space Program Manual - confined space entry procedure and entry permit.

Tank is mounted to the truck chassis by way of a three-point flexible mounting system using tapered rubber bushes on the front pivot and rubber insulator blocks with spring loaded bolts either side of the rear.  The interface between the tank and the chassis is a full-length sub-frame connected to the chassis by way of shear plates.  All bolts are plated to resist corrosion.

Removable man ways in baffles and a hinged top hatch allow access to the tank for inspection and maintenance.

Full length mudguards are provided for hose storage.  Water discharge to pump out of a sump located at center of the tank to allow entire contents of tank to be discharged.  The tank can be drained by opening both suction valves located at rear of truck.

Taillights mounted through rear protection bar, mud flaps, rear warning signs and reflectors to RMS specifications.

All plumbing to be hot dip galvanized after fabrication.
